Harpeth Hall's 47th year of Winterim is now in session.
Harpeth Hall's innovative experiential learning program named Winterim, kicked off today with a special assembly for Upper School students. For the next three weeks, Harpeth Hall girls will step outside their traditional class schedule and participate in a wide variety of learning opportunities. Freshmen and Sophomores follow an on-campus alternative schedule of specialized courses designed to encourage students to try something new. Learn more here.
First day of on-campus Winterim classes.
Juniors and Seniors will embark on Winterim journeys outside the classroom to internships at businesses, hospitals, and organizations in Nashville, New York City, Washington D.C., Kenya, Australia, and a few independent study internships in various locations including Ethiopia and Lithuania. Academic travel opportunities for language and culture immersion include trips to France, Italy and Spain. Follow on social media.
Director of Winterim and International Exchange Program, Jacquie Watlington, spoke at the assembly and encouraged Upper School students to take advantage of this opportunity to explore their interests and learn something new. She challenged them to "be courageous!"
Upper School Interim Dean of Students, Pamela Carver, offered words of wisdom for the girls and shared her Winterim Top 10 list.
Ms. Watlington said in her closing remarks, "This is YOUR path. I encourage you to walk it, walk it together, walk it boldly, and never stop learning."
