The 2017 ACTFL Convention is the conference of the national organization that sets the standards for teaching languages. All members of the World Languages Department were excited to attend and learn about leading edge curricular and pedagogical initiatives, research and best practices in teaching languages and the latest information on Advanced Placement from College Board. Keynote speaker Bill Weir (The Wonder List on CNN) lamented the fact that he had not enthusiastically pursued language study when he had the chance and affirmed the idea that language does indeed open doors to other cultures.
We appreciate our faculty and their desire to pursue professional development!
