Eugene Pargh was a big believer in educational excellence for girls and in Harpeth Hall. He served as a Harpeth Hall Trustee from 1981 to 1987 and was named a lifetime Honorary Trustee in 1990. Most importantly, he was the father of alumna Linda Pargh Mossman '77 whom he and his late wife Madeline enrolled in the 9th grade at Harpeth Hall in 1973. Twenty-one years after her graduation, Linda enrolled her daughter Melissa Pinsly '02 and several years later enrolled daughter Lexi Mossman '11. In September of this year, Eugene passed away at the age of 96 following an extraordinary life of family, faith, and hard-earned financial success. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, Linda returned to Harpeth Hall with her husband Michael to hand-deliver a $1,100,000 bequest from her father's estate. This extremely generous gift is designated to the Madeline and Eugene Pargh Scholarship Fund established by the Parghs in 1996 which supports students who show demonstrated need and academic talent, with preference given to students who meet the school's criteria of diversity. Mr. Pargh dedicated himself to the people and causes he and his wife of 65 years loved most, and we are most grateful that Harpeth Hall was among them.
