Day of Giving Reaches New Record in Number of Donors!

The Harpeth Hall community responded in a big way to our fifth annual Day of Giving yesterday! Our themes #ALLHarpethHall and #showyourplaid led to a proliferation of plaid hearts across the country and entertaining social media posts including renditions of our Alma Mater.

We are delighted to announce that a total of 997 donors gave $168,640 to the Annual Fund, a 24% increase in the number of donors over last year. These generous donors came from 32 states, Washington D.C., Bermuda, Bulgaria, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Of those 997 donors, 715 are Harpeth Hall alumnae. For the first time, two classes tied for the highest number of donors – congratulations to the Classes of 2009 and 2005! Note that this is the third year in a row for the Class of 2009 to place first. Coming in second was the Class of 2004 followed by our youngest alumnae, the Class of 2018!

After hitting the $100,000 mark late yesterday afternoon, we received a $10,000 CHALLENGE gift from a loyal alumna to inspire our community to continue giving throughout the night. Our donors took the challenge and surpassed the $140,000 threshold that triggered the match to take us well over $150,000!

Many thanks to our 2019 Day of Giving donors for contributing so generously to Harpeth Hall! We greatly appreciate 2018-19 Annual Fund Chairs Jody and Mary Britton Thompson Cummings '93, 2018-19 Alumnae Gifts Chair Kate Sherrard Chinn ’93, 2019 Reunion Chair Adelaide Davis ’79, and all our Day of Giving Champions for their leadership of and devotion to Harpeth Hall. It is true we are #ALLHarpethHall, and it takes a committed community like ours to achieve these results! Thank you.
