Bellevue Sports Weekly
We are proud to re-post this story on our very own Ella Nelson '19 from the Bellevue Sports Weekly. Congratulations!
Harpeth Hall's Nelson Makes a Splash In and Out of the Pool
Ella Nelson is a straight A student with a very rigorous academic schedule. This past January during our Winterim term, she was able to shadow a trauma surgeon at Vanderbilt Hospital which solidified her desire to be on a premed track in college.
Ella has a strong intellect and the ability to analyze information from multiple perspectives. She has found a great balance of challenging herself academically throughout her high school career while also being a world-class athlete and active Harpeth Hall community member.
Ella has a very humble demeanor but has been a wonderful leader on our campus as a student council member since her freshmen year.
At the Tennessee State Swimming and Diving Championship meet a couple weeks ago, Ella won the 200 individual medley and took second place in the 500 freestyle.
She was also on our 200 medley relay team that placed first and set a new meet record and a new National Independent School record. Ella was then also on our 400 freestyle relay which won state.
That particular relay team also holds the state record. Although just a junior, Ella has recently committed to swim for the University of Virginia.
