With over 400 alumnae returning to Harpeth Hall from across the country and even from as far as Kenya, Africa, Reunion 2-0-1-9 was a good time! The weekend, which took place Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, celebrated Harpeth Hall graduating classes ending in fours and nines, beginning with 1954 and ending with 2014.
The festivities kicked off on Friday with Harpeth Hall Today, an informative Q&A with Head of School Jess Hill and several students from the senior class. A wine and cheese reception followed in the beautiful Ann Scott Carell Library.
On Saturday morning and afternoon, Winterim in May classes were offered featuring alumna author Jeannie Cochran DuBose ’79, the legendary Dr. Art Echerd, and alumna artist Anne Hightower Trainer ’89. More than 100 alumnae attended the Reunion Alumnae Panel, led by moderator Ann Wyatt Little ’04. Panelists included Merrie Morrissey (Clark) Alexander 1969 – Director, Grants Development and Management for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, TN; Alison Smith 1979 – Executive Vice President, Distribution, Publisher Relations, and Administration Services at BMI in New York, NY; Carrington Nelson Fox 1989 – Writer/Journalist in Nashville, TN; Elizabeth Ann Stringer 1999 – Chief Science and Clinical Officer at axialHealthcare in Nashville, TN; and Phoebe Carver Lane 2009 – Director of Program Design at One Acre Fund in Kenya, Africa. The panelists inspired everyone in attendance by leading an insightful and, at times, quite humorous discussion that reflected on life "beyond the plaid." Click here to watch the Alumnae Panel.
Individual class parties took place on both Friday and Saturday evenings. From all reports and the “BEAR buzz”, a grand time was had by all! Thank you to Adelaide Davis '79, Reunion 2019 Chair, the thirty-four individual Class Co-Chairs, and to all who made it back to Harpeth Hall for a wonderful 2019 Reunion. We sincerely missed those who were not able to be here, but hope we see you for the next Reunion in 2024!
