The Harpeth Hall School is excited to announce Amy Josephson as the school’s new head basketball coach and assistant athletic director.

Coach Josephson was most recently the head girls basketball coach at Riverdale High School (2018-2021), leading her team to a No. 1 AP poll ranking in the state of Tennessee and a No. 7 national ranking by USA Today. Coach Josephson has garnered Girls' Basketball Coach of the Year honors in both 9A and 7AAA districts. At Harpeth Hall, Coach Josephson will focus on developing student excellence on and off the court. She will join Harpeth Hall on June 1.

“My role is to create an environment where my student athletes can be successful as a whole person — as family and community members, in the classroom, and on the court,” Coach Josephson said of her coaching philosophy. “My program's purpose will be to develop young women into leaders who will have a positive impact on the future.”

As an Academic All-American student and basketball player at Austin Peay, Coach Josephson learned how to balance personal, athletic, and scholastic accountability. Her coaching experience also includes Rossview High School (2008-2011), Bryan College (2011-2013), Shelbyville Central High School (2013-2016), and Moore County High School (2016-2018). Coach Josephson is an inspirational leader with proven on and off-court success in developing the whole student-athlete.

“Her adaptive coaching and teaching style, infectious winning attitude, and proven ability to develop basketball programs to achieve sustained success will make her a welcome addition to Honeybear Nation,” Harpeth Hall Director of Athletics Kylene Lee said.
