Capital Gifts
A capital gift serves to enhance Harpeth Hall's buildings and grounds. As opposed to a gift that supports annual operating expenses, a capital gift represents an investment in the school's future. Customarily, a capital gift is given in addition to an Annual Fund contribution.
Previous Capital Campaigns
The Next Step Campaign began in 2009 and concluded in 2014 raising $35.6 million. Major milestones of The Next Step Campaign included:
- Constructed the 60,000-square-foot Athletic and Wellness Center
- Raised over $10 million for endowment, 72% of which went to financial aid endowment
- Acquired all of the remaining Johnstone Court properties and closed the street
- Acquired a three-acre property on Hobbs Road, bringing the campus to approximately 44 acres
- Raised over $1 million for the Annual Fund each year of the campaign
The Campaign for Harpeth Hall from 2000 to 2005 raised $44.1 million. Major milestones of The Campaign for Harpeth Hall included:
- Constructed the Ann Scott Carell Library
- Constructed the Dugan Davis Track and Soccer Complex
- Constructed the Patton Visual Arts Center
- Constructed the Daugh W. Smith Middle School
- Renovated Jack C. Massey Center for Mathematics and Science
- Renovated George N. Bullard Gymnasium
- Renovated Frances Bond Davis Theatre
- Renovated Marnie Sheridan Gallery
- Renovated Souby Hall
- Doubled endowment to over $21 million
- Raised $1 million each year for the Annual Fund during the five-year campaign
