Visions of Yesterday:

36 years of Cindy Crist Award Winners

Julie and Larry Crist, along with friends and family, established The Cindy Crist Art Fund in 1986 in memory of their daughter, Cindy Crist ’85, a talented artist. Each year, Harpeth Hall draws income from this endowment to purchase a piece of art from the most outstanding Advanced Placement art student who exemplifies Cindy’s innate talent. The chosen artwork is added to the Cindy Crist Collection, which is displayed in various locations around campus.

For the first time, the entire Cindy Crist Collection will be displayed together in The Marnie Sheridan Gallery from May to October 2022. Notably, the opening of this exhibit marks the 50th reunion for the Class of 1972, which is Marnie Sheridan’s class year.

The Cindy Crist Collection exhibit honors the spirit of Marnie Sheridan and Cindy Crist, both Harpeth Hall students who loved the visual arts and who passed away too soon. As we pay tribute to the lives of Cindy Crist ’85 and Marnie Sheridan ’72, we offer a glimpse into how Harpeth Hall’s art department has flourished thanks to the influence of these beloved alumnae.

Additionally, we invite our community to join us in celebrating the Class of 1972 in their 50th reunion year as well as 36 years of artistic talent at Harpeth Hall!
