WORDS FROM WELLESLEY

Wellesley Wilson

A warm and sincere welcome to you, our newest Harpeth Hall families! We are thrilled you are joining our community. Soon, you will begin receiving important information to prepare you for the school year, including information on new student meetings, textbooks, uniforms, and laptops. We will be in touch with you in April with more details.

I invite you to the Investiture of Head of School, Jess Hill, on Friday, March 29, 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Athletic and Wellness Center. We are honored to have Jess' friend and colleague Lisa Damour, Ph.D., as our keynote speaker. Dr. Damour is the Director of the Center for Research on Girls at the Laurel School (OH) and a New York Times best selling author. At Harpeth Hall, we often return to Dr. Damour's work as we seek to grow in our understanding of girls and young women and how we best support them. The investiture is a milestone event in our school's history, and I hope you will be able to join us at this celebration of Jess' headship.

As you will soon discover, Harpeth Hall communicates regularly with parents. In April, you will begin to receive newsletters that will keep you up to date with campus happenings. In the meantime, I want to draw your attention to Jess' monthly blog, Bears Repeating. I hope you'll enjoy reading her words and grappling with important ideas around raising girls; she gives us much to think about.

We are excited to begin this journey with you. As we often say, every part of Harpeth Hall is designed with girls in mind. We can't wait to see your girls here to experience our community for themselves.

Welcome!
