Quentin Eichbaum

Quentin Eichbaum was born and raised in southern Africa where the vast, timeless landscapes first inspired him to take up watercolor painting. Coming to the US, he studied with several notable American watercolorists including Frank Webb, Don Andrews, Bill Bissell, Wes Waugh, and Sterling Edwards who broadened his artistic range and encouraged him towards abstract painting. He is also self-taught and has experimented with a range of techniques to develop his own style. He now paints both abstracts as well as land/seascapes as he says it keeps him 'paying attention' to the world.  He is also a practicing physician and a professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical School. He has exhibited in the US, Europe, and Southern Africa.
