Ned LaBonne is a figurative sculptor who studied at the Art Students’ League in Manhattan, and creates portrait busts to full figures from clay, directly in cement over steel, or in bonded bronze.  Working from the belief that beauty, dignity, and character show in a person’s face, he creates portraits that have a notable sense of presence.  His full figures from small to life-sized are often athletes, dancers, or gymnasts.  His figures celebrate the mastery that comes from years of mental and physical training and add to our human experience.
