Meet Our Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors welcome prospective students, parents, faculty, alumni, and special guests to campus through tours, panels, and events. This club of 130 upper school students serves as a face for Harpeth Hall in the greater community. Meet our three wonderful Student Ambassador officers for the 2022-23 school year.
Mary '23
President
My name is Mary, and I am a senior in the Ambassador program this year. Being an ambassador has been one of my favorite parts of my time at Harpeth Hall, and I am honored to be president this year. In my time at Harpeth Hall, I have played softball, been a part of our school newspaper, "Logos," been a member of Confidence Committee, a member of Jane Austen club, and seen all the amazing opportunities Harpeth Hall offers their students. My favorite part of Harpeth Hall are the people that have made this place a home and a powerful community for countless women.
What has been your favorite class at Harpeth Hall so far?
Honors English in 10th grade. Not only is Mr. Croker an iconic Harpeth Hall teacher, but the conversations, books, and topics studied in this class continue to aid me in classes across all disciplines to this day.
What has been your most memorable project at Harpeth Hall?
Most research papers have been exciting and beneficial, most notably the AP US History research paper junior year. Studying McCarthyism has always been something I've been interested in, and the process of writing this paper helped me learn how to organize research, do proper citations, and manage my time wisely.
In what ways have you felt encouraged or motivated to try something new at Harpeth Hall?
I have always been encouraged by my teachers at Harpeth Hall to push myself to my furthest limits. Whether it be taking AP Chemistry after never taking an advanced science class, or running for president of a club against my fellow classmates, my teachers and faculty role models have encouraged, supported, and celebrated me through Harpeth Hall
What makes Harpeth Hall more than just a school to you?
The people make Harpeth Hall more than a school! My classmates have become my friends, cheerleaders, and supporters while also pushing me to extend my knowledge and opinions. My teachers have challenged me, encouraged me, and guided me to become the best and most educated version of myself. Harpeth Hall creates a strong community and sisterhood that I have found nowhere else.
Olivia '23
Vice President
Hi! My name is Olivia, and I am a senior. I've been at Harpeth Hall for eight years and in that time, have tried nearly every sport and art enrichment Harpeth Hall offers. In upper school, I settled down and devoted my time to our school newspaper Logos, Model UN, Global Scholars, and working with our Center for Civic Engagement. All of these activities are incredible, but the best part of Harpeth Hall is absolutely the teachers— I love every one of my classes thanks to them.
What is your favorite class?
AP US history- Mr. Polk led the class in such a unique and fun way! I loved all of our discussions in that class.
What has been your most memorable project at Harpeth Hall?
My SEEK project in 7th grade was definitely memorable because I studied a bunch of different historical conspiracy theories! It was so much fun.
In what ways have you felt encouraged or motivated to try something new at Harpeth Hall?
In middle school, I was such an unathletic kid, but I signed up for every sport possible! I love that there was always a no-cut option every season in 5th and 6th grade, because it was a great opportunity to try a bunch of new things no matter your skill level!
What makes Harpeth Hall more than just a school to you?
Absolutely my band of over 100 sisters in my grade! Every day coming to school is so much fun, because it’s just an opportunity to hang out with some truly remarkable people. Growing up with these girls has been incredible, and I’m so grateful for them.
Vee '23
Secretary
Hello! My name is Vee, and I am a senior and secretary of Harpeth Hall's ambassadors! Some of my favorite classes at Harpeth Hall include Psychology, Art History, and any science class. I am involved with the Bears Broadcasting club, Confidence Committee, cross country, and softball! My favorite part about being a student at Harpeth Hall is the supportive environment the students create for their fellow peers; whether at a sports event or musical performance, you can always expect Honeybears to be cheering for their friends!
What is your favorite class?
Any science class (chemistry, biology, physics, environmental science) - I love hands on activities and experiential learning!
What has been your most memorable project at Harpeth Hall?
Building a catapult in physics.
In what ways have you felt encouraged or motivated to try something new at Harpeth Hall?
Confidence Committee has really pushed me out of my comfort zone and encouraged me to to put my name out there. You never know what could happen unless you go for it! Failing is crucial to character development.
What makes Harpeth Hall more than just a school to you?
The teachers. The personable relationships they craft with each student make us feel appreciated, welcomed, and prepared for who we authentically are.
