For my capstone project, I researched sustainable transportation in developing cities and cities that have already developed. I looked at Curitiba, Brazil’s Bus Rapid Transit System to see how developing cities could focus on making their transportation more sustainable. I also looked at developed cities Vancouver and Copenhagen’s bike lanes to see how they were able to install the lanes and promote cycling culture. I also looked at how the roads were formed in each of these cities to promote types of transportation besides cars (metro, buses, bikes, walking).
