Engineer Girls Essay Contest

The EngineerGirl program is designed to bring national attention to the exciting opportunities that engineering represents for girls and women. This program and its website is a service of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and grew out of the work of the NAE Committee on the Diversity of the Engineering Workforce.

At Harpeth Hall, each 7th grade students writes an essay focused one engineering as a science class assignment, with collaboration from the English department. This year the theme is more a creative writing piece where previous years focused in on research and designing a solution. Students may then choose to submit their essays to the contest.
