I researched how to direct and produce a short film. I learned about the artistic elements of filmmaking, the process of writing a script, and the process of producing a film. After completing my research, I decided to write a short film called “The Girl in Plaid '', which shows the journey of a girl at Harpeth Hall from 5th grade through 12th grade, through her senior speech. I gathered girls from all grades and filmed my shots during the school day. After  producing the film, I learned about what the most critical parts of filmmaking are, and I learned about how much time and effort it takes to direct a film.
