I researched how artificial intelligence can impact our lives as students and individuals. My goal for SEEK was to gain knowledge of AI and how I can use it well in my day-to-day life. I started by researching different types of AI and the qualities and abilities of each type to be able to get a general understanding of the 5 main types. I then moved into learning the ethics of artificial intelligence and how to make sure I am using AI ethically. Finally, I researched how to use AI at school, specifically looking at Harpeth Hall’s Artificial Intelligence policy and how we can use it as students. I took all of my research centered around AI and decided to make an online escape game to help teach other middle school students about AI and how they can use it well. My goal for the escape game was to make it educationally effective, targeted towards a middle school audience, and for the player to walk away with a better understanding of what AI is and how to use it. I used Thinglink to create my escape game with different images, articles, and more. My game includes different paths the player can take depending on their answers. It also includes questions about AI-generated images, and links to databases and websites where the player discovers answers for themselves. What I took away from my SEEK project was a strong understanding of the 5 main types of AI, how to use it ethically, and a deeper understanding of how we as students and faculty can use AI on our Harpeth Hall campus. While I did take away a broad knowledge of artificial intelligence, I also learned how to manage my time, how to receive feedback, and how to set goals to successfully achieve a task.
