Second Chance Companions: Producing a Video for the Nashville Humane Association
Elizabeth Read

Jia Tipnis '27

My SEEK project focused on producing a video on adopting an older dog. I have partnered with the Nashville Humane Association for several years and decided I wanted to build on that relationship for SEEK. To start my project, I learned more about the Nashville Humane Association through an interview with NHA’s executive director, Ms. Laura Baker, and I researched pet adoption. Through my interview and communication with NHA, it became clear that a need of the Nashville Humane Association is to address some of the misconceptions many people have about adopting older dogs. This led me to work with NHA to plan a video that educates interested pet owners on the benefits of adopting an older dog. After researching the basics of videography, I created a storyboard, and planned various scenes for my video. Then I solicited the help of a classmate to play the role of an interested pet owner. Mr. Fraser gave me suggestions for the video and helped me add subtitles and other elements to my video. My edited video is currently published on the NHA website!
