My SEEK topic this year was the psychology of music. I wanted to know more about how music can affect the brain, and how that effect can change in different scenarios and settings. I researched how the brain processes music and how music and emotions are connected. I learned that listening to music can be very beneficial for childhood development, that listening to music while participating in various activities and scenarios can be helpful for most people, and that music therapy can benefit Alzheimer’s patients. After I completed my research, I decided to make a 4 episode podcast that focused on sharing the key lessons I learned from my research. Each podcast recaps a topic and I also interviewed people who have experience in the field.
