I created illustrations for the Nashville Humane Association. My first goal was to promote the adoption of pets at the NHA using 3D animations. To do this, I researched how to use Blender, a website for 3D animating and modeling and practiced making models of dogs and cats. After lots of trial and error, I realized that animating with Blender is very difficult and thankfully the NHA expressed interest in my drawings of pets to display around the shelter. So, I switched to a goal of creating 10-15 digital illustrations of dogs and cats, including an image based on the current NHA logo and some illustrations based on animals available for adoption like a cat named Ava, who you can see on my slide. My final product is 11 illustrations of dogs and cats that the Humane Association will use on posters around the shelter and in their social media postings. During the SEEK process, I improved my ability to draw animals. I also learned how to communicate with organizations and manage my time commitments. Over the summer, I will continue to learn animation on Blender! |
