My SEEK topic was Middle School Athletics at Harpeth Hall and why every student should participate in them. I researched the different types of sports offered, different athletes and their perspective on sports, and how sports affect people later in life. I also created a survey for middle school students on participation in athletics and analyzed the 150+ responses with my mentor and with Harpeth Hall’s Assistant Athletics Director, Coach Asafo-Adjei. Using the information I researched and collected, I created an infographic for parents and students to learn about athletics in the Middle School and the importance of participating in team sports. Throughout this process, I learned about how much sports benefit my mental and physical health, and I learned basic skills about problem-solving and collaboration that are very important for any group project.
