Marguerite Trost wins silver at the 36th CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championship
The 36th CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championship was held on February 12th despite weekend weather in Boston, where the second blizzard in three days blew outside of Boston University's Agganis Arena during the competition. It may have been cold outside but there was a lot of sweating going on inside on the erg machines. Harpeth Hall crew teammates Marguerite Trost and Grace Lebo raced on Sunday. Ellie Loving participated as a coxswain to urge on the rowers. In an exciting race to the finish after a strong lead Marguerite brought home a silver medal in the Junior Women Lightweight category with a time of 7:23.5.
In the winter, regattas are held indoors since it is too cold to get boats out on the water. The 2k races are rowed by individuals on the latest Concept2 Model D ergometers, which are used by athletes at universities, clubs, schools, and national teams around the world as well as here at Harpeth Hall. On Saturday, February 25th the 2nd annual Music City Erg Sprints will be hosted by Nashville Rowing in Harpeth Hall's Athletic and Wellness Center. Come cheer on the athletes beginning at 8am or consider registering to join the competition.
