Upper School (9-12)

Intellectual rigor and a variety of opportunities provide a strong liberal arts foundation for upper school students. Planning an individual high school curriculum that fits each student is the cornerstone of a successful academic journey at Harpeth Hall.

4 Features of the Upper School

  1. Each student receives the advice of her teachers, adviser, college counselors, and the director of the upper school on the development of a personalized four-year plan.
  2. More than 90 courses – including Honors and Advanced Placement in all disciplines – provide Harpeth Hall students with a challenging college preparatory curriculum in all academic areas.
  3. Students are encouraged to pursue personal passions – from participating in cutting-edge research at Vanderbilt University or joining the Global Scholars Program.
  4. A hallmark of the upper school is Winterim, a three-week experiential program in January that provides students with opportunities for cross-cultural experiences through academic travel abroad, internships in Nashville, New York, and Washington, D.C., and on-campus courses that deepen their knowledge.
