We are pleased that you are thinking about applying to Harpeth Hall and understand that the admission process can sometimes seem a bit daunting. We hope to help you by giving you clear steps to follow. Below we have listed the application steps, important deadlines, and links to all of the forms you will need.
We will begin accepting applications for the 2013-2014 academic year beginning September 1st. If you are interested in applying for a future year, please fill out the online inquiry form so that we can add you to our Admission mailing list.
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Receipt of the signed application form and application fee of $50.00 initiates the application process. In order to have time to complete all of the steps in the admission process in time for our regular decision date*, we need to receive the application form by January 7th. If it is after this date, please contact the Admission Office for availability at your desired grade level.
There are 3 ways to complete the application form. You may:
- Apply Online using the tab on the right-hand side of this page
- Submit the hard copy of the Application Form we send you
- Submit the Downloadable Application Form for 2013-2014 which is available on the right -hand side of this page
Step 2: Register for and take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam)
Group testing dates are scheduled in December and January at Nashville schools. You may test at any school administering the ISEE but you must send your scores to Harpeth Hall using our school code (431670). For more information about the ISEE, the test sites/dates offered, and to register for the ISEE, visit www.iseetest.org.
Step 3: Provide a complete transcript from current school
The Transcript Release Form should be submitted to your daughter's current school at the end of the first semester so that her first semester grades are included in the records the school sends to us. The school should send the complete transcript, including a copy of the transcript release form, directly to Harpeth Hall by January 30th.
Step 4: Provide two teacher recommendations
The Teacher Recommendation Forms ( Math and English) should be given to your daughter's current Math and English teachers in December. Her teachers should complete and return the forms directly to Harpeth Hall by January 30th. If your daughter only has one teacher then we suggest that her teacher from the prior year submit the second recommendation form.
Step 5: Interview with a member of the Admission Committee
After we have received your daughter's completed application form and fee, we will contact you to schedule an interview. We hold interviews from November to February. The student and one or both parents should attend the interview. We will speak with the applicant and her parent(s) separately.
*Decision letters will be sent March 1st to each candidate who has a complete file. If your file is incomplete or you make application after the published deadlines, the Admission Committee will make decisions as it is able. |
